Boundaries... delineations… territories… these are tangible and intangible demarcations of the extent by which ones security and comfort zones are defined. These may shift with the current tide, be displaced due to instability or even become ambiguous because of indetermination. Fara Manuel reacts to the various circumstances through which one’s sense of place or displacement transpired. More importantly, she envisions how these stages, changes and distinctions will eventually lead back home.
Fara Manuel-Nolasco explores the intersection between the humanities and geography. She works with mapping as a method of diurnal-style of recording human activity. Fara was part of the 98B COLLABoratory-Bamboo Curtain Studio exchange residency in Taipei,Taiwan in 2014. She is currently teaching in the Fine arts program of UP Baguio.
