Art Talk by Mimi Tecson
Mimi Tecson will talk about her recent project about memory, objects and space. Through REVISITING Aling Nene’s Sari-sari Store where she brought to life her grandmother’s old store in Sampaloc, Manila as an installation at the Koganecho Bazaar 2012. This is an annual art project in Yokohama, Japan. Mimi was part of their 3-month artist residency program.
Mimi Tecson’s art focuses on the usage of various objects as a means of recollecting and representing memories. A strong emotional connection to objects and its sentimentality provide the foundation for her work. Tecson earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree at the College of the Holy Spirit and has exhibited her works in various venues such as Vargas Museum, Singapore Art Museum 8Q, Blanc Gallery and Art Informal
